The City of Tupelo had been stuck with the same website since 1995 — until they called Mabus Agency in 2010. The city needed a new website to better communicate with its citizens. Mabus met with city staffers at length to determine the importance of content and how it should be shared. The result of this effort is one of the most interactive civic websites in the country. On the home page, a viewer can see alerts from each of the city departments, learn what their city council is doing and even pay their utility bills or traffic tickets. The website wasn’t built for one way communication: a visitor can easily contact the mayor directly or find his/her councilperson easily.

Brand new technology was created in the code that shares information from each department. Mabus Agency coders built in the ability for each city department to send out real time updates via the website's content management system or third party services like Twitter.
