In the Fall of 2010, Mabus Agency was asked to produce a spot testing a new concept: an ad with several downtown businesses showing a vibrant place to shop and dine. Previous spots sold goods versus this new “Downtown is Open” concept that sells an experience. In 2011, the downtown businesses asked us to expand this into a full-fledged ad series. Mabus worked with 24 downtown businesses to create three new ads. The result was striking ads that these businesses co-op’ed to make affordable for everyone. Buzz from these commercials has been tremendous and retailers call the campaign a great success.
